The Nikon Z8 is arguably one of the best tools for bird-in-flight photography. Over several months in the Malaysian wetlands, I've refined my settings to maximize autofocus tracking and exposure speed.
My Autofocus Configuration
I configure my custom buttons to quickly toggle between Wide-area AF (Large) and 3D Tracking with Animal Subject Detection active. This allows me to acquire subjects quickly and lock onto their eyes instantly as they break from the cover.
